What is Reiki ? Reiki is a Japanese word for Universal Life Force Energy. When the body is out of balance we are in a state of disharmony. By bringing back the balance and harmony into our life through Reiki, it will enhance the body's natural ability to heal itself to a greater sense of well being. Reiki works on the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional levels. It works in conjunction with traditional medical treatments and other therapies. Reiki is:
What is a Reiki treatment like ? A Reiki treatment is given over a fully clothed body. The practitioner will then lay their hands on and near the body of the recipient. The healing energy is then channeled through the practitioner via the hands. You may feel sensations of warmth or tingling, but the feelings will vary from person to person and even from treatment to treatment. Some people will feel sleepy and relaxed and may even fall asleep, while others will feel thoroughly energised. Sometimes a client can feel that the Reiki hasn't worked, but the energy is very subtle and will work on the part of the body where it is most needed. A treatment session can last around 45 min to 1 hr (sometimes longer). Reiki is terrific for relieving stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia, tension and pain as it brings a wonderful feeling of calmness. Even if you don't have any ailments, you can still have a treatment to relax and calm down from the stresses of everyday life.
